A Jar of Oil!

“A Jar of Oil!”

A prophet’s widow was told that her son would be enslaved to pay her husband’s debt. She asked Elisha for help, and he asked her, “What do you have in your house?” She replied, “I have nothing except a jar of oil.” Elisha told her to borrow empty vessels, pour oil into them, sell the oil, pay her debt, and live on the rest (2 Kings 4:2-7). ♥️🙏🏾

Don’t neglect to appreciate what God has placed in your hands: oil, a skill, a talent, children, a family. We often waste time thinking that what we have is insignificant. But God chooses “the weak and foolish things to shame the wise” (1 Cor 1:27). Let me never forget that God’s word is full of promises. I am “fully persuaded that God has power to do what He promised” (Rom 4:21). He can bring water from a rock, bread from heaven, and flowing oil from a jar! Lord, may I grow rich in Your promises, stand firm in Your truth, and be strong in Your Word as I draw strength from the oil of joy.
