Written

“Written!”

Jesus was tempted by the devil, who said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

But Jesus replied, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God’” (Mt 4:1–4). ♥️🙏🏾 When Jesus said, “It is written,” He was using the rabbinic way of declaring, God has spoken. God’s Word is powerful — it created the heavens and the earth out of chaos. That same Word has the power to confront, defeat, and destroy the schemes of the enemy. Lord Jesus, pour fresh wisdom and a deeper love for Your Word into our hearts. Help us hunger for it, learn it, and live by it, as we “hide Your word in our hearts, that we might not sin against You” (Ps 119:11).
